Programs

The Zone is FREE. It is paid with student fees so take advantage! Come sample our fresh daily variety of hand-picked offerings, specially formulated to support you in all 8 Dimensions of Well-being. It only takes a moment to change your life!

Gain insight and inspiration, circulate creativity, and work on something that really matters: your own well-being!  You'll make friends, learn new skills, discover resources, and feel better about your health, wealth, and life in general.  If you have no idea what you're doing, the more fun it will be to give it a try.  In The Zone, everything goes.

All programs are first-come, first-serve -- get there early to participate.

R&R Squad R&R Squad See Calendar for days

Stop by The Zone for some much needed R&R Squad (Resources and Relaxation Squad). R&R Squad Peers will be providing hands on, low intensity stress reduction and relaxation activities as well as information on campus resources.

The old favorite is back...Studies show that petting a dog lowers stress, and our canine companions prove it every time by putting smiles on faces. Different dogs each week. Volunteers from Love on a Leash

Drop into The Zone for amazing healthy cooking demonstrations. Each week features different local, organic, and vegetarian ingredients. Sponsored by Whole Foods, Cups Catering, Housing, Dining & Hospitality, Student Health, and Recreation. Complete with free food!

Healthy You Healthy You Tuesdays 2:30-3:30pm

On even weeks (Week 2,4,6,8, and 10) come get a free physical fitness assessment at FitStop! The Student Health Service Registered Dietitian will also be available for any food related questions between 4-4:30pm. Brought to you by Student Health. On odd weeks (Week 1,3,5,7, and 9) you can increase internal awareness and manage stress with Biofeedback. Brought to you by the CAPS Wellness Peer Educators.

Meditation for Midterms Meditation for Midterms 1:15-1:45pm; 1/23, 2/6, 3/5

Happening ONLY THREE TIMES this quarter! Meditation has integrated itself into modern life and become an increasingly familiar word in our vocabulary. Physicians, psychologists, and other professionals endorse meditation as a powerful tool for relieving stress, maintaining health, and promoting creativity and vitality. In this course you will experience a variety of traditional methods to effortlessly achieve a peaceful state of being, greater mental clarity, and unite with your spiritual essence. Rejuvenate, energize, balance, relax, deepen internalized awareness and enjoy a new relationship to life itself'. All levels of experience are welcome. Chairs will be available for sitting.

This lunch-time series will provide information on campus resources that support the mental, physical, social, and financial aspects of the graduate & professional student experience. A minimum of 5 students is required for workshop to take place. Free food catered by Art of Espresso.
